Who We Are
Our Mission
To address the transportation barrier faced by Tucson's low-income community by providing free cars, aiming to promote access to essential services and opportunities for financial independence. This may be through a vehicle donation or vehicle repairs that are vital to someone's job and livelihood.
Our work directly benefits low-income individuals and families in Tucson by providing them with a vital resource—transportation. This support enables them to access essential services, pursue employment opportunities, and ultimately achieve greater financial stability and independence.
Our Approach
- Vehicle Donations: We accept donations of used cars from individuals and organizations in working condition. These vehicles are then refurbished and given to eligible low-income residents of Tucson.
- Partnerships: We collaborate with a local auto shop to ensure donated vehicles are thoroughly inspected, repaired, and made roadworthy before being gifted to beneficiaries.
- Application Process: Prospective recipients undergo a screening process to determine eligibility based on income level, need for transportation, and other criteria. This ensures that the cars go to those who will benefit the most.
- Education and Support: Recipients receive guidance on car maintenance, insurance, and other aspects of vehicle ownership to help them fully utilize and maintain their new asset.
- Community Engagement: We engage with the community through outreach programs, workshops, and events to raise awareness about transportation challenges faced by low-income individuals and to encourage support for our mission.
